We have accommodation on 2 sites on Long Island, built in traditional Andaman style, and each with its own character and atmosphere. You follow the blue arrows from the Jetty, and Blue Planet Resort is the first place you get to, about 15 minutes’ walk from the jetty. Blue Planet Homestay is about 10 minutes further from there.
Blue Planet Homestay
Built around a magnificent ancient padauk tree ( a native hardwood), we have 10 thatched rooms around a central restaurant and the whole area is naturally air-conditioned by the shade of the tree!
The place has a magical atmosphere which is hard to describe or explain, but we like to think the ancient tree is taking care of us.
The design is very traditionally Indian: the central restaurant area dominated by the tree is where everyone meets and socialises. The place is perfect for families, travellers, and divers: Blue Planet Scuba is based here. The beach is just 5 or 10 minutes’ walk away through a jungle path.
We have 6 rooms with en-suite bathroom, and all rooms have a little verandah facing the restaurant.
All the rooms are named after islands in the archipelago.
Room prices are:
Standard room with attached bathroom: Rs1,900 (Little Andaman, Ross, North Button, Middle Button and South Button)
Small double or single room with attached bathroom: Rs 1,200 (Smith)
Ross and Smith can be booked together as a family room with a connecting door.

All rooms can be booked with us in advance. When you confirm your booking we will ask for an advance payment for the first night of your stay. This can be paid by bank transfer if you are in India, or, from Europe, it is easy to pay through www.wise.com
Restaurant
The central restaurant area is perfect for relaxing during the day, and we pride ourselves in offering excellent meals cooked to order: the freshly caught seafood is a speciality. Just keep an eye on the “specials” menu, with freshly-caught fish, and vegetarian specialities.
Our fresh ground coffee, espresso or cafetiere, is very special! You have the option of locally sourced fresh ground coffee, or organic coffee brought in from Karnataka, freshly ground on the premises. We also offer fresh fruit juices according to season, and a variety of snacks from pakoras to pancakes.
Safe, filtered water is free: we do not want to create a problem with plastic waste on the island, so please bring your own bottle if you wish and re-fill it.
Blue Planet Resort

For those wanting a little more privacy, or for large parties of family and/or friends, we have newly-built cottages which offer a romantic retreat set in a large garden, a short distance from the boat jetty. These are bamboo cottages, off-the-ground, wonderfully cool and designed for good air-flow. Each has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large covered verandah and a shared central area for dining and lounging.
These cottages are named “Nancowry” and “Katchal”
We also have newly-built one-bedroom cottages. They are built of a mix of concrete and wood, with tiled floors and a small veranda.
The one-bedroom cottages are named “White Cliff” and “Reef Island”.
Blue Planet Resort is the newer of our premises and we are planning to build a restaurant and bar there. Until then, it is only 10 minutes’ walk to our restaurant at Blue Planet Homestay. There are also restaurants in the village, 10 minutes’ walk away.
Blue Planet Resort offers a cooler, quieter atmosphere with lots of space. The magnificent gardens offer a bird-watchers paradise with many mature trees: padauk, garjan, betel, tamarind, banana, bamboo and all kinds of tropical fruit trees: and in the evenings as you sit and relax the swiftlets will swoop close to you as they come home to roost.
Cottages are available at Rs 3,000 per night for the 2-bedroom cottages and Rs2,000 for a 1-bedroom cottage.
